Little League World Series Texas East State Tournament 2023 was conducted at Faulkner Park, Tyler, between July 15 to July 18. The Needville LL team emerged victorious.
Teams participating in this tournament had already secured victories in their respective district-level competitions. The champion of this event would proceed to the Little League World Series tournament, slated to begin on August 16, 2023.
The Texas East region is divided into four sections, encompassing teams from a total of eighteen districts. The state-level competition commenced with a match against a team from Mississippi.
On the inaugural day of the tournament, a total of three games were played, involving all eight participating teams. As of August 7, only Texas East and Louisiana were left in the competition.
The final match between these two teams is scheduled for August 8, the winner of which will earn a spot in the LLWS.
Little League Texas East Regionals 2023
Little League Texas East Regionals 2023 kicked off on the 3rd of August with eight teams from seven different states, taking place at the Marvin Norcross Stadium.
In the initial match, the Texas East team emerged victorious against Mississippi with a 9-5 win. They continued their winning streak the next day by defeating their Texas counterparts 5-2, securing a spot in the winner’s semifinal.

In the Southwest Region bracket of the Little League World Series, Texas East managed to defeat Louisiana in the semi-final match, earning a place in the tournament final.
Remarkably, Texas East has not lost a single game in the competition so far. As a result, to win the title, Louisiana will have to defeat Texas twice.
Louisiana secured their spot in the finals by winning against Oklahoma with a close 8-7 victory on August 7 in the loser’s final.
The outcome of this competition will determine the Texas East Little League World Series team, and the victorious team will go on to represent the region in the Little League World Series (LLWS) held in Williamsport.

Little League Texas East State Tournament
Little League Texas East State Tournament 2023 took place from July 15 to July 18. Rose Capital Little League was the host of the event, which was held at Faulkner Park, Tyler.
There were four teams in the tournament, all of which earned their spots by being victorious in their individual Section Tournaments. During the event, the teams competed in a double elimination format.
The following teams participated in the tournament:
- Section 1 was won by Washington County
- Section 2 was won by Groves National
- Section 3 was won by Bellaire
- Section 4 was won by Needville

The competition began with Bellaire overcoming Groves National, and Needville triumphing over Washington County in the first day’s matches. Subsequently, Washington ousted Groves National by winning 10-5 over seven innings.
Additionally, Needville secured a spot in the state finals by defeating Bellaire, which resulted in Bellaire moving to the loser’s bracket.
Bellaire then competed against Washington and successfully removed them from the competition.
Unfortunately, Bellaire was unable to secure a victory against Needville in the final match.

- Bellaire beat Groves National with a score of 6-1.
- Needville beat Washington County with a score of 10-5 in 7 innings.
Semifinals Elimination Round, July 16:
- Washington County beat Groves National with a score of 10-8 in 7 innings.
Winner’s Bracket Final, July 16:
- Needville beat Bellaire with a score of 6-1.
Elimination Bracket Final, July 17:
- Bellaire beat Washington County with a score of 8-3.
Championship Match, July 18:
- Needville beat Bellaire with a score of 10-7.
Texas East Little League Districts
As of 2023, there are four districts in the Texas East Little League. Each district has a chief umpire and an administrator, and some even have an assistant.
Currently, the Texas East State Champion is Needville LL. They secured this title by defeating Bellaire LL with a score of 10-7 on July 18, 2023, at Faulkner Park. This win also gives them the opportunity to qualify for the LLWS.
The region is composed of eighteen districts, each having a varying number of teams. The teams within each district compete against one another to determine the district champion.

The champions from each district advance to the Section Tournament, there they compete against champions from other districts within their section.
Next, the victors from each section progress to the Texas East State Tournament, the champion of which moves on to the Southwest Region Tournament.
The Southwest Tournament includes teams that have advanced from various state competitions, including but not limited to, California, Louisiana, and Texas West.
At the district level, the event follows a double-elimination format. In certain districts, teams are split into two separate areas and compete independently.
The winners from each area then compete for the chance to represent their district at the Section Tournament. Any losses incurred in their respective areas are carried forward to the district finals.

Heights Norhill secured a victory in the District 25 tournament. However, they couldn’t assemble a complete squad for the subsequent Section tournament.
